Paul Barbour Memorial Service
March 8, 2010 - 10:41am — Larry PeplinPaul Barbour, 93, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, surrounded by his
family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years,
Nell, his sister Julia Inloes, and brother Joseph Barbara. He is
survived by his children, William (Nancy), Peter (Maureen), Elizabeth
Collins (Gerald), and Matthew, his sister Melita Lieblang, and many
nieces and nephews. He was born June 14, 1916 in Malta, and
immigrated to the United States with his family in 1928.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. After
his discharge, he wrote professionally for the Jim Handy, Ross Roy,
and General Motors companies as well as on a freelance basis. He was
a devoted father, loving husband, caring friend, and patient teacher
who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 12:00 p.m.
in the chapel at GPUC.
Laura Spurr Memorial Service
March 6, 2010 - 8:53am — Larry PeplinLaura Spurr, long time community friend, died Friday, February 19th, 2010. Laura was in California when she suffered a fatal heart attack. A memorial service will be held at the church on April 3rd, 2010 at 11am. Please keep Laura's husband Stephen Spurr and sons Nathaniel and Josiah in your thoughts at this time.

October 7, 2009 - 8:13pm — Christopher PeplinIt is with sorrow that we recently experienced two recent deaths from our church family.
Member Dr. Robert Griffin died on October 4th, 2009 in Grosse Pointe. A memorial service to honor his life was held at our church on Saturday October 31st.
Former member Carol Hammond died on September 12th, 2009 in Lansing, MI. A memorial service to honor her life was held at our church on Saturday October 24th.
