Where on Earth Does Evil Come From? Hosted by Reverend Mitra Rahnema and Adult RE Dir. Jill Crane. You are invited to the third of our series of casual theological chats. We will pose questions and ask you to discuss thoughts and experiences. Have you ever experienced good and evil? What is the source of good and evil? Why do good people do bad things? Can evil people do good things? Does evolution or the natural world know good and evil? Is evil always intentional or selfish? Is the victim of evil always innocent? How do we even know what is evil and good? The premises of the discussion are as follows. (1) Whoever is there is supposed to be there, it is always a perfect group of people offering exactly what we need. (2) Whatever is said is supposed to be said, remember to both talk and listen. (3) Differences of opinion are to be engaged and also respected. Dialogue and debate with a loving heart. Good humor is welcome. (4) Sharing of your heart as well as keeping an open mind to multiple experiences is encouraged. (5) Laughter is a wonderful religious community activity! We look forward to seeing you there! Suggested refreshment donation -- $3 per person. Please sign up in the church foyer or email jill@gpuc.us
