Sunday, September 11 was Rev. Shelley Page's first official service as the settled minister of our church. This past spring, the congregants of GPUC voted to call Reverend Page to be our minister, beginning in the fall of 2011. This is the first time we have called a new settled minister in 27 years.
Rev. Page comes to Grosse Pointe with almost thirty years of UU leadership experience, including serving as the Intern Minister of Unitarian Universalists of Central Delaware in Dover, where she was their first minister. Most recently, she has been the Interim Minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Flint, Michigan. She also served the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Plattsburgh, New York in 2009-10. Reverend Shelley was ordained by the UU Church of Canandaigua, New York, the congregation she helped found in 1993.
