GPUC's Outreach program involves our congregation in various community service endeavors, focusing as much as possible on the needs of our neighbors from the east side of Detroit.

We collect and donate thousands of pounds of food each year to
Crossroads East, an east-side food bank and social services provider on East Jefferson Avenue.

We have initiated a sponsoring relationship with
Ravendale Community Center on Harper Avenue in Detroit. Ravendale is dedicated to revitalizing and maintaining the local community's self determination as a way of life.
Current activities include:
- Job training and referral programs
- After school programs for school-age children
- Seniors programs
- Personal development programs
Habitat for Humanity (Grosse Pointe Partners) counts on GPUC participants for hands-on home building as well as an annual financial contribution from the Outreach committee's budget.

My Sister's Place in Detroit, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, receives an annual contribution from the Outreach budget.
Each year we solicit additional suggestions for worthy causes that are preferably located in our immediate area. The recipients of Outreach assistance are always evolving to better fit the needs of our surrounding communities.
