7-9pm Music That Matters: A Martin Luther King Day Concert

Date:
Monday, January 16, 2012 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location:
GPUC chapel

Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church is sponsoring a modern folk and acoustic blues concert performance by Matt Watroba and Robert Jones on the evening of Martin Luther King Day, January 16th, at 7:00 PM in the GPUC chapel, a 200-seat venue that offers an intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics.

Matt and Robert, the former hosts of WDET's "Folks Like Us" and "Blues From the Lowlands" radio programs,  present a family-friendly show, with broad appeal for all, from the most sophisticated aficionados of folk and blues, to elementary-age children. Rest assured, you will not be hearing those tired 60's folk songs. This is material that will surprise with its freshness and timeliness, and spirit. You can expect to be entertained by a virtuoso performance that includes laughter, inspiration, some awe, and perhaps a little enlightenment.

Admission is only $10.00. Tickets will be available either at the church office between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm weekdays, or can be reserved by emailing to: concert@gpuc.us.  Grosse Pointe Unitarian is located at 17150 Maumee, between St. Clair and Neff, one long block from East Jefferson Avenue, in Grosse Pointe City. Questions can be addressed to the email address as well.
